Veteran player/assistant will not be on the ice tonight
Veteran forward Lance Galbraith has been placed on team suspension by head coach Dan Wildfong and will not play this evening. Galbraith was not at practice today and was reportedly placed on suspension due to his actions during last night's game against the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs. According to CHL rules, a team suspension means a player has to sit at least 30 days before reinstatement, barring a trade or release.
Galbraith, 28, had three penalties in the second period during last night's game; two for roughing and one for unsportsmanlike conduct.
The specific reasons for the coach Wildfong's decision are unknown but fans have witnessed characteristics unbecoming a leader during practices. They have also grown weary of Galbraith drawing penalties without good reason and for not being more involved in scoring. Galbraith has just five points (2 G, 3 A) on 24 shots (-6 rating) and 44 penalty minutes so far this season.
Galbraith has a long record of accomplishments; experiences that Dan Wildfong considered when he recruited him. He definitely has talent. Speculation is heavy on Galbraith's future with the Brahmas but what happens next is up to Lance Galbraith and Dan Wildfong.
Only time will tell what that future will bring and I don't think we'll have to wait long.
