It's Odessa!

Brahmas host the Jackalopes in game one of the Southern Conference Championship series

The Odessa Jackalopes defeated the Laredo Bucks 4-3 tonight in overtime and will advance to meet the Texas Brahmas in the Southern Conference Championship series. The Jackalopes beat the Bucks in the semifinals, four games to two, winning four straight games to finish the series. Four of the six games were decided in overtime.

For the Jackalopes, it is their third trip to the conference finals (two in the CHL, one in the WPHL) and their first since 2006.

During the regular season, the Brahmas met the Jackalopes six times, with the Brahmas winning four of the six meetings and each team winning once in a shootout. The Jackalopes won the only game played in Odessa.

The Brahmas will host games one and two on Friday, April 10th and Saturday, April 11th. Games three and four will be at the Ector County Coliseum in Odessa on Tuesday, April 14th and Thursday, April 16th. Game five (if necessary) will be at NYTEX on Saturday, April 18th. Game six (if necessary) will be in Odessa on Thursday, April 23rd. Game seven (if necessary will be at NYTEX on Saturday, April 25th. All games will begin at 7:05pm.

I'll have more soon with the series preview being written for intotheboards.net. Also, keep an eye out for an interview with a key player for the Brahmas in the playoffs thus far.
