Brassard signs with the Brahmas...at least for the weekend

Former Mudbug captain comes out of retirement to help a friend

captain Chris Well, here's something you might not have expected - Former Bossier-Shreveport MudbugsBrassard coming out of retirement to join...the Texas Brahmas?

Actually, not a complete surprise for some...including our friend Roy Lang, Jr. of the Shreveport Times who broke the story today. You can read it here.

The Toronto, Ontario native played seven seasons in Bossier City and was the Mudbugs’ leading scorer in three of those campaigns. The 6-foot, 205-pound winger known for his wicked slap shot tallied 402 points (155 G, 247 A) in 413 regular season games with the 'Bugs. Brassard is one point shy of 600 for his professional career.

Maybe he gets it as a Brahma?

Brassy will be on the ice in purple and black at the Allen Events Center for Friday night's game and will play against his old team on Saturday night at the CenturyTel Center.
