Justin Kinnunen recalled to the San Antonio Rampage

All-Star defenseman gets second call-up this season

21-year-old San Antonio Rampage defenseman David Schlemko has been recalled to the Phoenix Coyotes (NHL), opening up a spot on the blue line for the Brahmas' Justin Kinnunen. Kinnunen received word today that he was needed back in San Antonio and left to join the team as they prepare to go on the road. They play the Binghamton Senators on Wednesday in New York.

Kinnunen will be joined by Arizona Sundogs center Adam Perry who was also recalled today. This is Kinnunen's 2nd call-up to the AHL. On January 17th, he on January 17th he registered +1 in his first game in a Rampage sweater.

Kinnunen is the leading defensive scorer for the Brahmas this season, tallying 28 points (12 G, 16 A) and 59 penalty minutes in 38 games played. He currently has a +15 rating. He scored a hat trick on January 3rd on the road against the Laredo Bucks.
