Texas Brahmas release Mark Carragher

2nd year forward placed on waivers

The Texas Brahmas released second year forward Mark Carragher on Friday according to Pointstreak.com. Carragher, 24, played in 22 games with the Brahmas this season, tallying just four assists and 21 penalty minutes.

Last season, the speedy forward from Charlottetown, PEI played in all but one regular season game and accumulated 19 points (7 G, 12 A) and 26 penalty minutes. In 12 playoff appearances, he added two more assists. Carragher played four seasons of NCAA hockey for the University of Southern Maine before joining the Brahmas.

No reason has been given for Carragher's departure but the Brahmas have a roster that is heavy with forwards and the addition of Travis Banga and the return of Jason Deitsch likely caused Dan Wildfong to make the move.

Carragher was well-liked by fans and has a lot of talent. I wish him luck in the future.
