Guggenberger named to All-CHL, All Rookie Team

League honors latest accolades for Brahmas goalie

The Central Hockey League has announced that Brahmas’ netminder Mark Guggenberger has been selected to the All-CHL team and CHL All-Rookie squad, as chosen by the league’s 14 head coaches.

The 2011-12 campaign has been one filled with accolades for Guggenberger, who recently earned Goaltender and Rookie of the Month honors for his exceptional play in February.

The Richfield, Minnesota native also earned the victory in the 2012 All-Star Game on January 11th in Arizona and set a CHL record for consecutive scoreless minutes (238:31), a streak that spanned over five different games and included three straight shutouts.

Guggenberger (21-8-3) currently leads the league in Goals Against Average (2.07) and is tied for fifth in Save Percentage (.918). The Brahmas’ goaltender is joined on the All-CHL team by defensemen Riley Weselowski of Rapid City and Frankie DeAngelis of Fort Wayne and forwards Todd Robinson of Evansville, Brandon Marino of Quad City and Shawn Limpright of Rapid City.

Guggenberger is only the third rookie in the last 10 years to be named a member of the All-CHL squad, joining John DeCaro (2006-07) and Tyler Weiman (2004-05).
